Bruce Lee Artwork

Bruce G. Lee Artist's statement

In my work with my own dreams and as a certified Destination coach, I have learned that an image or a word can change us. My painting is part of the same work: it gives form to the unknown with light and shadow and allows it transformative power. My art work is a record of my response to the world, both visible and invisible. It's an attempt to communicate a way of knowing that rarely occurs in waking life , but frequently shows up in our dreams.

My art work is symbolic. While the light and shadow are of the actual painting are critically important, the symbol illuminated is always more important. When I paint, I respond to the world directly, without analysis. Every painting starts in the field because I yearn for that directness. I paint to communicate something I cannot do through any other means.

I want to deeply communicate the mystery and beauty of life. When a painting has enough beauty, depth and complexity that it seems a living thing, I'm happy.
