This is the first page of the book of power. The circle is a brush painting meditation. Once the brush is placed on the page, the circle must be created quickly, otherwise all the ink will drain out at the starting place. One complete circle. It's part of the meditation for me that no circle is perfect. Each brush drawing is different. Each moment—even if repeating the same task over and over again—is different.
The circle's position here at the front of the book asks you whether you meditate. Think about it for a moment before you form an answer. Do you sit and meditate for a certain amount of time every day? Are you involved in a regular activity in which you feel a kind of flow? Where a minute passes as if it were a second. Where there is nothing but the activity? Some people find this when they swim laps in a pool, or when they are drawing or painting. Flow is a kind of marker for a meditative state. Meditation, including flow, is important to build your potential to respond calmly to the illusion of the world around you. There are many meditation or prayer traditions. if you want to be truly powerful, spend some time every day in the practice of meditation.
